In May 2017, after value engineering support and deliberation, Harris Bros & Collard Ltd entered into a contract with The Great Wood Camp. The works comprised of demolitions and clearance of a previous dilapidated building, making way to construct an originally designed oak-framed mess hut.
The amenities include; a vast dining area, a tuck shop, a fully equip catering facility, offices, meeting rooms, cleaning stores, changing areas, WC’s, cloakroom and a contemplation snug room, complete with a log burner.
This venture utilised a combination of passivhaus approaches and responsible sourcing. The addition of airtightness membranes and jointing tape, supports a reduction in energy bills and increased efficiency. Further features such as highly specified composite windows also contribute to lessening the overall running costs.
HBC would like to thank the project team and the client for their dedicated involvement throughout the duration, pulling together to fulfil a fantastic and successful venture.
