These works initially involved the demolition of a conservatory to Wing House and finished with a complete refurbishment of the existing Wing House building to significantly upgrade the living quarters. Sandwiched between these works was the construction of a 2-storey bedroom and living accommodation annexe, a 1-storey link and all associated drainage and external works.
The new build construction was a timber framed structure with a cut pitched roof and engineered joists at first floor level. The roof pitch was set at 35 degrees with clay plain tiles over. There were also flat roof dormers with hanging slates and a canopy with zinc roof linking the building to the Wing House.
The school remained in operation throughout the works and we therefore had to pay particular consideration to school pedestrian traffic and activities to avoid minimal disruption whilst maintaining a safety conscious site.
